The Cairns and District Junior Eisteddfod is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the Junior Performing Arts in Far North Queensland. From our humble beginnings in 1955 to the present, we are a committed and dedicated group of people who work hard, and freely give up their time to put together an Eisteddfod of quality that is a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all concerned.

The Eisteddfod is an essential mechanism for local Schools and the likes of Dance schools & Music teachers to profile their students and enable them valuable experience in public performance.

➢ To present the annual JCU Cairns Eisteddfod, one of the largest and most successful competitive performing arts festivals of its type in North Queensland.

➢ To provide opportunities primarily for the younger people in our community, to perform, in public, at a world class venue.

➢ To receive professional critique to improve their performance, artistic and literary skills and inspire them to embrace a lifelong association in the performing arts.

➢ To promote the eisteddfod movement locally, nationally and internationally.

Our Aim is to bring out the potential of every student through fair and supportive competition.
